Tackle The Odds: Domestic Rugby – Doing The Business
Fantastic weekend of rugby again! Did you know that 79% of the matches from this weekend scored over 40 points! With some scoring much more – Bristol tallying up 85 points against newcastle. If that doesn’t get you keen to watch more rugby then i’m not sure what will. Head to our video section of to find the best highlights from all the games. Check out the performance from The Lions Flanker Emmanuel Tshituka causing Havoc against leinster.
Tipster Record
Well admittedly there were a couple of scenarios that we overlooked. I didn’t foresee the Lions beating Leinster however we perhaps should have paid attention to a slightly rotated side from the European giants. Then we rather overestimated the ability of the brumbies and the sheer skill of the Auckland Blues, calling that game wrong. La Rochelle we have backed for two weeks running and they have failed us! Perpignan were an unknown quantity to us, admittedly not following them as closely. The Crusaders really do look a shell of their former selves at the moment, meaning no discredit to the Western Force as its great to see Australian teams succeeding. The final suprise was the Ospreys who did well to turnover the stormers on home turf.
So our prediction record last weekend gave us a very respectable 75% success rate. this takes our overall tally to 77% win record. Stay tuned, in the coming weeks we will be backing ourselves in the more challenging handicap & Over/Under markets which are less predictable. We will also be setting ourselves a challenge. Partnering with 10Bet, we will be putting real money behind our bets, starting with £50 to see where we can grow that for the remainder of the season for 2024.
So onto this weekends fixtures
The Premiership
2nd Vs 3rd: Bath vs Saracens
Bath looked a better side even without finn russel on the weekend. Orlando Bailey really stepped up to the plate and those around them. They look up for the challenge of the premiership. Saracens had a relatively easy test against Gloucester last weekend who sit 2nd last in the table. Bath have won their last 5 games at home and Saracens have patchy away form but they do look ruthless at the moment with most of their stars fit and available. this one is a really close one to call however I think Saracens take the honours here. The bookies have Saracens as favourites but not by much, 1.62 currently the highest odds on Saracens.
Playoff Battle: Tigers vs Bristol
This is a bit of a crunch match for Leicester, you have to think that if they don’t win then their hopes of making the last 4 are slim. Bristol seemingly on fire, watch the highlights of their game on Sunday and you will see some really fluid rugby. Bristol are on flying form, winning their last 5 games and their last 3 away games – you feel they are peaking at the right time. The bookies have Leicester the favourites with their solid home record, welford road is very much a fortress., we’re going to back the tigers here purely based on the observation that bristol may very well be a fair weather team. interested by a handicap bet here you may go for -4.5/+4.5 which seems achievable for leicester and improves the odds from 1.57 to 1.85
Top14
The top14 is ever unpredictable but last weekend seemed to go a little more to plan. The pick of the weekend surely had to be Toulon vs Toulouse and the electric atmosphere in the stade velodrome – check out the video below
Champions cup repeats: Toulouse vs Racing 92
Racing were comfortably beaten the other week by toulouse and i can’t see past the same result happening again. rather than go into form we’re going to go straight to the handicap here. Toulouse look good, narrowly missed out to Toulon on the weekend but Understandably against that crowd. going with a big call here but fancying toulouse with a 25.5 deficit giving you a 4.75 odds boost.
3rd time lucky: La Rochelle vs Toulon
Toulon aren’t quite the team of old but this promises to be a tasty matchup with Toulon just sitting pretty above la rochelle in the table. La rochelle, have a very good home record and will be gunning for a win after back to back defeats – you feel they will be going full noise on the top14 now. this could make a good watch if you are free on your sunday evening at 8:05pm. La rochelle are huge favourites and who can argue with that, lets go with a handicap bet here of -10.5 against the home team.
URC
South Africa Tour 1: Lions vs Munster
the first of the irish sides that is on tour in south africa, buzzing after their win against the bulls – Munster. They take on the weakest of the south african teams in the form of the lions, but as you saw in the video above, this side can certainly play and being on the road can certainly take its toll. bookies have munster the favourites but you can find them as high as 1.5. this is a tight contest as the lions are not out of making the play-off. we’re going to go with an outside bet here and take the lions at home, you will find odds as high as 3.2 here.
South africa tour 2: Stormers vs Leinster
Wonder what team leinster will put out for this, they are huge outisders for this game currently as high as 7.5. strange considering they are playing the same stormers were beaten at home by the ospreys last week. at the time of writing we have not seen the teams, we may see a significant price drop once selection is announced. at this point in time, we’re calling leinster here for the win.
Super Rugby
Red v blue: Queensland reds vs Auckland Blues
The blues are taking on their 2nd australian team in 7 days but this time on the road. The Reds are a plucky team but likely no match for the blues who currently sit 2nd in the super rugby table but we like this bet as a potential banker ball for good profit. you can find the blues at the moment with around 1.3 odds which is a worthy punt, also promises to be a cracking game, both sides know how to entertain.
